3 Days Desert Tour from Marrakech to Fes – Sahara Itinerary

3 day Desert Tour

Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley

We begin our 3 days desert tour by leaving Marrakech early in the morning. As we cross the High Atlas Mountains, you’ll enjoy panoramic views and traditional Berber villages. Our first stop is at the legendary Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site and filming location for many famous movies. After lunch in Ouarzazate, we drive through the Valley of Roses and the Skoura palm groves before reaching Dades Valley. There, we enjoy dinner and rest in a comfortable guesthouse.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Todgha Gorge – Merzouga Desert

After breakfast, we explore the spectacular Todgha Gorge, where sheer canyon walls rise over 300 meters. We continue through Tinghir and Erfoud toward the edge of the Sahara. In Merzouga, your camels will be waiting to carry you across the Erg Chebbi dunes. You’ll ride through golden sands as the sun sets, then arrive at a luxury desert camp. Enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner and Berber drumming around the fire under the stars.

Day 3: Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Azrou Cedar Forest – Ifrane – Fes

Wake up early to witness a magical Sahara sunrise. After breakfast, we drive past the town of Rissani and through the lush Ziz Valley, known for its palm groves. Along the way, we stop at the Azrou Cedar Forest to see the wild Barbary macaques. Then we pass through the alpine town of Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco.” By late afternoon, we arrive in Fes, where our unforgettable journey comes to an end.
