Fes to Merzouga desert tour description

Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou Cedar Forest – Midelt – Middle Atlas – Merzouga desert.

At the scheduled time, your English-speaking driver will come to greet you and depart for your 3 days tour from Fes to Merzouga. You will travel towards the Ifrane city which is also known as “The Switzerland of Morocco”, and then to the Cedar forest of Azrou. Here, you are going to see the Berber Apes and take some photos during a short stop.
After a while, you will continue your Morocco desert tour toward the Middle Atlas including a stop at one of the mountainous villages for your lunch. Your desert trip continues after your lunch towards the desert of Morocco by crossing the Palm grove of Ziz with its palm and olive trees. Upon your arrival in the desert, you’ll be welcomed with a glass of mint tea in your Riad/Hotel while enjoying the view of the sunset and the dunes of Merzouga. Dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Merzouga 4×4 Desert excursion.

Camel trekking – Overnight in Standard or Luxury Camp

Breakfast, and get ready for your desert 4×4 excursion. Your private desert excursion will start with a drive along the Erg Chebbi dunes, a great extension of a sandy desert, where we can find the highest dunes of Merzouga at an altitude of 250 meters. You will travel along the road of ‘Rally Dakar’ to Tissardmin oases where you can find the fossil quarries still in the area, then visit a nomad settlement and learn their secrets and manners before your journey continues to the black people’s village of Khamlia.
At this village, you visit one of their Gnawa music school and enjoy a dance time with mint tea. after a while, you continue to a Berber restaurant to enjoy one of the famous meals in the area (Desert Couscous or Berber Pizza in order). Once you have your lunch, your driver will take you to your accommodation in Merzouga to get ready for your Camel trekking excursion to the top of the dunes where you will see the amazing sunset with your English-speaking Camelman, then continue to your luxury Desert camp for the night in the tents in the heart of the desert dunes. The camp is fully prepared with a private toilet and shower.

Day 3: Merzouga desert back to Fes.

According to your choice, you might want to wake up early in the morning to see the sunrise over the dunes and enjoy the start of your day before your trip 3rd day departure. breakfast will be in the Camp restaurant.

During this day tour, you will drive along the desert fields of Acacia trees on the way to the city of Rissani “The economic city of the Southeast). Afterward, you will join the Valley of Ziz with a short stop at one of the panoramic spots for some photos. Your desert trip 3rd day continues towards Fes via the Middle Atlas and Ifrane city.
