Marrakech to Merzouga tour description

Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas – Ait Benhaddou Kasbah – Dades Valley.

After breakfast, you’ll start your Morocco tour from Marrakech to Merzouga accompanied by your private driver. Departing from Marrakech towards the High Atlas mountains which is the gate between Marrakech and the desert. During this journey, you surely enjoy the panoramic views of Morocco’s mountainous villages and make a few short stops. After 3 hours of driving, you arrive at the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, one of the UNESCO heritage located in the foothills on the southern slopes. Here, your private driver or guide can accompany you on a walking visit to this breathtaking Kasbah, walking in its alleys, and stairs of rocks. After a while, return for lunch in one of the panoramic restaurants.
Your Morocco desert tour continues towards Dades Valley passing by Ouarzazate “the Hollywood of Africa”, Skoura Valley, and the Valley of Thousand Kasbahs. Upon arrival, you would be welcomed with a glass of mint tea while checking in for your rooms. Dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorge – Erfoud – Merzouga desert.

On your Marrakech to Merzouga tour’s second day, you leave the Valley of Dades by driving towards the dunes of the Merzouga desert. The trip includes some stops during this journey such as in Todra Valley and Todra Gorge with an altitude of 300 Meters. After a short stop, continue to approach the desert dunes, passing by a couple of “Berber villages”. Here, you arrive in Erfoud town “The Fossil Capital” to visit one of its Fossil factories. Sometime in the afternoon, you will finally arrive at the Merzouga desert dunes where you will go on a camel trekking excursion to the top of the high sand dunes to see an amazing sunset view. Afterward, you return with your camels to your camp for a hot shower and enjoy the rest of the evening in the middle of the sand dunes. (The camp is fully prepared with a hot shower, toilet, and restaurant).

Day 3: Merzouga Desert – Alnif – Draa Valley – Ouarzazate – High Atlas – Marrakech.

According to your choice, you might want to wake up early to watch an amazing sunrise.
Once everyone is prepared, you have breakfast in the camp restaurant, then depart for your last day of the Marrakech to Merzouga desert tour on the way back to Marrakech. The journey will start with driving along the desert fields of Acacia trees and take a short stop in Alnif. Here, you continue along Draa Valley and cross the Ait Saouen mountains before arriving at Ouarzazate. According to your choice, you might stop to see Taourirt Kasbah and the Cinema Studios of Ouarzazate and then continue to Marrakech via the High Atlas.
